To upload and process bank or credit card statements in Tax-Time-Saver (TTS), follow these steps:
Navigate to the Bank Statements Tab:
- Ensure you are in the "Bank Statements" tab for the selected client.
Select the Appropriate Upload Option:
- Click "Upload Bank Statement" for bank account statements.
- Click "Upload Credit Card Statement" for credit card statements.
Choose Files to Upload:
- Click "Select Files" and choose one or more files to upload.
- After selecting the files, click "OK" to begin the upload process.
File Processing:
- The selected files will be uploaded and processed automatically.
- The average processing time for a file is approximately 1 minute.
Manage Processing Time:
- If you prefer not to wait for all files to finish processing, you can scroll through the Processing Status window and click "Close".
- The files will continue processing in the background.
- Once processed, the statements will appear in the Statements List.
Continue Working:
- While the files are being processed, you can review previously processed bank transactions or upload additional files for other clients.
Exporting Processed Files:
- After the files have been read, you can immediately export the data to Excel or QBO format.
Verification:
- It is recommended to verify that the files are balanced.
- Check if the opening balance and closing balance read by TTS match the balances shown on the original statement.
- Additionally, verify that the sums of Credit and Debit transactions are correct.
- If you find any discrepancies, hover over the statement in the Statements Table and click the "Bank Transactions" button.
Adjusting Transactions:
- In the Bank Transactions view, you can review the transactions and make corrections as needed.
- You can edit, add, or delete transactions to reconcile the statement before exporting it to Excel or QBO.
By following these steps, you can ensure a smooth and efficient workflow when uploading, processing, and verifying bank or credit card statements in TTS.
